TODAY’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Freedom From Fear

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you . . . you are mine. . . . I will be with you.

—  Isaiah 43:1-2

Fear can take on many different forms. Spiders or snakes terrify some people. Some people might be afraid of public speaking, enclosed spaces, or heights. Many people fear losing themselves, dying, or changing. Others continue to experience daily fear of physical harm, oppression, persecution, and other negative factors.

We are instructed not to be afraid in the Bible. We read over and over again about God coming to his people and saying things like, “Do not be afraid. I concur with you. I am your God, and I won’t abandon you. You belong to me. Do not be afraid, the angel at the tomb and Jesus on the road both said to the women when they first spoke to them in the account of Jesus’ resurrection.

Prayer:

You are always with us, Lord. Remind us of your strength, and give us your courage to face our fears in the knowledge that you are always with us. Amen, in the name of Jesus.
